Nina Theroux has the ability to override other people's willpower and bend them to her own. She must establish eye contact for her power to be effective. She can't use her powers while the target is wearing sunglasses. It is implied that some people are immune to her ability. Gary Bell seems to be an example of this.

Background

It's hinted that Nina has a troubled past. It is confirmed that she is estranged from her family.

• Nina slept with Cameron Hicks at least twice under the influence of the alpha Jonas.

Trivia

• It seems that whenever we see her drive she has a different car. When asked about, a lot of the time by Cameron Hicks, she says it's "borrowed".
• Nina's influence only lasts a few minutes.
• During an argument with her ex-boyfriend, she told him to "Do yourself a favor and kill yourself.", and he did. This was before she had a full understanding and/or control of her Alpha ability.
• Nina's influence does not work on certain individuals. These include:
  • Gary Bell, but this is because of his brain structure, not his Alpha ability. This means it's possible that Nina's ability won't work on other Autistic people.
  • Lee Rosen, who has somehow trained himself over the years he's known Nina to ignore her "suggestions".
  • People who are blind.
• In addition to the immunity of the blind, certain devices which make the wearer immune to Influencers, such as Skylar Adams' specially modified contact lenses, or a simple pair of darkened sunglasses, suggest that somehow Nina's abilities are absolutely dependant on eye contact.
